1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the TideCast mobile application (the "App") provided by the TideCast team (the "Operator"). By installing or using the App you agree to these terms.
2. The Service
The App provides tide forecasts, sea weather (wind, waves, water temperature, etc.), fishery-zone information, tide alarms, and sun/moon information. The service is free and ad-supported.
3. Nature of the Information — Important
- Tide levels and tide days are estimates based on official forecast tables and harmonic calculations. Actual water levels can differ significantly under weather effects such as low pressure and wind.
- Tide alarms and rising-tide warnings are assistive references only. Notifications may be delayed or fail to fire due to device settings or system battery optimization. On tidal flats and rocks, always prioritize on-site water conditions and posted signage.
- Fishery-zone information is for reference only and has no legal effect. On-site signs and local government notices prevail; complying with fishery regulations is your responsibility.
- Sunrise/sunset and moon data are astronomical calculations and may differ from actual observation.
4. Intellectual Property
Rights to the App and its components (design, text, graphics) belong to the Operator. Source tide data comes from KHOA (Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency) and weather data from NOAA GFS and other public sources.
5. Prohibited Conduct
- Reverse engineering or copying the App, or bulk-extracting and redistributing its data
- Interfering with the normal operation of the service
- Using the App for purposes that violate applicable law
6. Limitation of Liability
The Operator does not warrant the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of information in this free App and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, is not liable for damages arising from use or inability to use the App, including decisions about fishing trips, tidal-flat activities, or commercial operations.
7. Changes to or Suspension of the Service
The Operator may change or discontinue all or part of the service with prior notice. Given the free nature of the service, data coverage (stations, weather elements) may be adjusted.
8. Changes to These Terms
If these terms change, the revised content and effective date will be posted on this page. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
9. Governing Law
These terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea.
